Welcome to CRAIR - Country Research for Asylum and Immigration Rights

Charity Objectives:

To promote the respect, protection and fulfilment of human rights as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and all subsequent conventions and declarations, and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms by the following means:

  • Undertaking research into and the delivery of training on human rights issues, specifically the political, social, cultural and economic conditions in countries.
  • Disseminating research and training materials on Country specific Immigration, Asylum and Human Rights issues to the legal community, Charitable organisations, community groups, and others concerned with the furtherance of the rights and interests of individuals asserting a protection entitlements, as well as to such individuals themselves.
  • Providing technical information to the aforementioned agencies and persons with the object of enabling them to advocate more effectively on behalf of persons asserting a protection entitlement, or on their own behalf.
  • Improving public and media awareness and understanding of the social, economic , cultural and human rights conditions in countries throughout the world.
  • Fostering positive links with other agencies engaged in the preparation and provision of country of origin information, whose values and objectives are compatible with our own, with the intent of sharing research and resources, and improving access to and the dissemination of information.
  • Setting clearly defined standards for all research undertaken and training delivered, by or on behalf of or in association with CRAIR, so as to ensure as far as is practicable that it is both objective and comprehensive.
 
HJT Country Conference ...

HJT Training Ltd presented a Country of Origin Information Conference on Friday 16th November 2007.

Invited speakers included some of the foremost experts on Somalia, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Bangladesh and Democratic Republic of Congo. Leading practitioners with specialist experience in the representation and the judicial assessment of evidence on these countries will also be giving presentations.

Launch of CRAIR ...

The HJT Training Country of Origin Information Conference also marked the occasion of the launch of CRAIR which will, in partnership with NGOs, produce high quality Country of Origin Information for Asylum Claims.

All profits from the Conference will be donated to CRAIR by HJT Training.
